A riveting 3 months journey, compiled of creating social media content for the MTC Summer Spin & Win Competition, has ultimately been checked off of our list as completed. Our task was to provide AdforceNamibia with Videography and Photography services throughout the Campaign. The content was used to promote the competition on the MTC social media platforms. It ran throughout December 2021- February 2022, of which, 10 lucky winners walked away with brand new cars after playing the MTC summer Spin & Win competition! The winners were then handed their cars at the MTC headquarters last Friday. (25 Feb 2022)
Here are a few things we reflected on during the process of the Campaign.
#Delivery time: Directly after the competition had aired, we had to submit an image of the winner to AdforceNamibia for social media publishing. We also delivered a highlighted video of the winners 3 hours later.
#Consistency: The competition took place every Wednesday, so we had to be prompt and arrive at NBC headquarters to capture the footage.
#Timing: The most critical part was staying focused in the fast-paced environment.
The shows were always broadcasted live, which meant, we had to ensure important shots such as the winner's reaction were not missed.
Working at a #fast-pace: Operating in a fast-paced environment like this enlightened us to strategise better for future events. We have come to the realisation of the importance of internal training for our freelancers. Aiming to advance their skills, and potentially create a smoother process for us all.
Overall the whole campaign was a great experience for us. We had the opportunity to work with various creatives. Imelda Munika assisted us with videography work. Imelda is a final media student at the College of the Arts, majoring in cinematography and video editing. She is open to camera work, video editing and directing.
